uiuiui, was haben wir denn hier - er wohnt mit uns unter einem dach ...
the computer doesn't like us and we are tired (here in uruguay concerts start at 2 am and they drink beer from 1-l-bottles... well, and everyone only speaks spanish. ..).
just arrived at montevideo - uruguay... we are sorry we can't upload pictures yet, but we'll try later... the city is beautiful, even after 20hrs of sitting in the big freezer that they call omnibus we are not too tired to walk around.. very nice atmosphere, little shops like copenhagen, old buildings and streets like barcelona, rome,... but still very latin american, especially the men...! uruguay also looks nice, the landscape much different (you really feel like getting a horse and ride around), the sea also looks good, but we'll stay here until monday then we have a closer look. tonight we'd find out about some nightlife (which was too few in barra :) ) - see you later! (hasta luego - now we have to learn spanish which is not fun!)
ilha de santa catarina, florianopolis - barra da lagoa. that's what they call it :) first how we got here: we went to itacare and left as soon as we could - broken boards (strange waves), bad atmosphere (strange people) and everything in hebrew :) we probably just had a bad day but anyway, took the next best flight to florianopolis, in the state of santa catarina (this is quite south, we're getting closer to uruguay :) ). too expensive and too quick (for the flight we had to pay for the surfboards and they suffered and we had to sleep at the airport....blabla but at least they had a place to clean the shoes at the airport - crazy brasil) but in the end it was worth it: here you can see our view from the apartment - just to the beach! so we wake up and have coffe while watching the waves, take the wetsuit (which is REALLY important here - we both got a cold in the fist days, norma still suffers... a agua ta bem geladinho :) ) and go surfing. by the way, this beach is the fullest (and only this strech, the others are deserted...). as we always get so cold we try to warm up in the evening with lots of cinquenta e um (cachaça) and capeta - hang-overs the next mornings are always the funniest :) other problems here: the sun - we protect ourselves with lycra, baseballcaps and hipogloss (white cream), ants that take over the kitchen (so far not too many cucarachas though), our chaos anyway, strange other tourists from chicago and austria who will visit north germany for something what is called "wacken" (do you have an idea what this is?;) ), everywhere you can buy cerveja "skol" at the beach - quite a temptation... and we can buy açai here (we didn't expect that, it's usually a fruit from the amazonas, but well, we don't worry about it and just enjoy - and we let grow our mussels from proteinas de soja - but it tastes good :) ). by the way - the blue car would be nice...
